these cookies are always anticipated every fall in our house we have a persimmon tree in our front yard and we know when its time for cookies!!

Ingredients For persimmon cookies

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    shortening
  • 1/2 c
    wild persimmon pulp
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 1/2-3/4 c
    chopped wild hickory nuts (or you can use pecans)

How To Make persimmon cookies

    Preheat oven 350 degrees Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl, place on a greased cookie sheet in spoonfulls, bake 15 to 20 min dont over bake !! Enjoy!

    I use a cone shaped colander and wood pestle to remove the pulp from the persimmons.
