I found this recipe that I hadn't made in awhile that I got from Taste of Home several years ago. These are so good. I usually double the recipe. I hope you enjoy them. The photo is from Taste of Home.

Ingredients For pear custard bars

1/2 cbutter, softened

1/3 csugar

3/4 call purpose flour
-
1/4 tsppure vanilla extract

2/3 cmacadamia nuts, chopped
- FILLING TOPPING:

1 8oz. pkgcream cheese, room temperature

1/2 csugar

1 1/8egg
-
1/2 tsppure vanilla extract

1 can(15 1/4 oz.) pear halves, drained

1/2 tspsugar
-
1/2 tspground cinnamon
How To Make pear custard bars

1In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Gradually add flour to creamed mixture. Stir in the nuts.

2Press into a greased 8-inch square baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on a wire rack.

3In a small bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Beat in the sugar, egg and vanilla. Pour over crust.

4Cut pears into 18-inch slices. Arrange in a single layer over filling. Combine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over pears. Bake at 375 degrees for 28-30 minutes (center will be soft-set and will become firmer upon cooling). Cool on a wiere rack for 45 minutes.

5Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting. Store in the refrigerator.
