I took these great cookies to a choir competition as a treat when I was in high school in Joliet. I have been asked about this recipe many times. I'm glad I found it again when cleaning out the recipe boxes!

Ingredients For peanut butter and chocolate chip squares

  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 3/4 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 1/4 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 c
    semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 c
    reese peanut butter chips
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt

How To Make peanut butter and chocolate chip squares

  • 1
    cream butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Combine flour, soda, and salt, add to creamed mixture. Combine chips, stir into batter. Spread mixture evenly into greased 15x10x1" cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-30 min or until golden brown. Cool in pan. Cut into bars.
