Cant remember where I found this recipe, have made them since I was Fifteen, but It Is a favorite of mine now and I can add Different Ingredients to the recipe like chocolate chips or change the flavoring to peppermint for Christmas, as I did in 2010.you can Add sprinkles or colored sugars,crushed peppermint candies on top depending on the holiday, Just roll them into balls Instead if using chocolate chips in dough and use a fork to make crisscrosses on top, then sprinkle with desired topping.

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    butter, cold
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 4 c
    sifted flour
  • 3 tsp
    baking soda
  • sugar cinnamon mixture
  • BAKE 350 DEGREES 8-10 MINUTES

How To Make original 1926 girl scout cookies

    Cream sugar, butter, salt,add egg and beat until light and fluffy. stir in milk and vanilla. Add dry Ingredients to creamed mixture. Chill 1 Hour. Roll dough on floured board. cut. Bake 8-10 mins. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Cool on racks so they crisp.* When making peppermint cookies I just rolled the dough into balls and pressed top with a fork into crisscrosses, then add sprinkles, colored sugars or peppermint candies crushed. Great for xmas.
