When I lived in L.A. there was a bakery who made Oatmeal Pear Chocolate Chip Muffins. Over the years I have worked to turn them into a cookie. I have finally got it right. These are my husbands favorite fall cookie.

Ingredients For oatmeal pear chocolate chip cookies

2 call purpose flour

2 tspbaking powder
-
2 tspcinnamon (i use 1 tbl)

1 tspsalt

1 tspnutmeg
-
1 cshortening, butter flavor

1 1/2 csugar
-
4eggs
-
2 coats, quick cooking
-
2 cpears without skin (chopped)

1 cchocolate chips
-
1 cwalnut pieces
How To Make oatmeal pear chocolate chip cookies

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2In a large bowl, cream together the shortening and sugar. Beat in the eggs until well blended. Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt; stir into the sugar mixture until well blended. Fold in the walnuts, oats, pears and chocolate chips. Drop dough by spoonfuls about 2 inches onto ungreased cookie sheets.

3Bake for 12 to 15 minutes (or until lightly browned) in the preheated oven. Let cool on wire rack
