oatmeal cookies - very chewy
(3 ratings)
They are made with the old-fashioned oatmeal, and this time all I had was Bread Flour not All-Purpose Flour. So using a recipe off the box of oatmeal which I have enjoyed many times, I altered the recipe and used bread flour, a little less and also added a little applesauce! They do have a nice chewy texture which I LOVE.

How To Make oatmeal cookies - very chewy
-
1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Don't grease the baking sheets. I make good-sized cookies, so about half as many as the recipe states, perhaps 2 1/2 dozen.
-
2Combine butter, both kinds sugar, eggs, vanilla. Measure and mix dry ingredient, combine with above ingredients. Stir in oatmeal, add raisins, and stir in a little applesauce.
-
3Measure by rounded spoonsful onto sheet and bake about THIRTEEN MINUTES. Let rest on pan until almost cool and loosen from pan, let cool completely. Then keep in tight container.
