This has long been a favorite cookie of mine and I have tweaked the original recipe just a tad because I prefer milk chocolate chips over semi-sweet. To each his own. Enjoy! Recipe: Bettycrocker.com Photos: Mine

Ingredients For oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies

1 1/2 cpacked brown sugar

1 c(two sticks) butter, softened

1 tspvanilla extract

1egg

2 cquick cooking oats

1 1/2 call purpose flour

1 tspbaking soda

1/4 tspsalt

1 cmilk chocolate chips (may use semi-sweet if you prefer)

1 cchopped pecans, if desired
How To Make oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies

1In a large bowl, stir brown sugar and butter together until blended. Add vanilla and egg and beat until light and fluffy.

2Stir in oats, flour, baking soda and salt; mix well.

3Add chocolate chips and nuts. Stir until thoroughly combined.

4Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.

5Cool slightly before removing from cookie sheet to wire rack.
