granola-ish cookies

I wanted something healthier than the usual cookie so I combined a number of recipes to come up with this one...my family loves them!

Ingredients For granola-ish cookies

1 call purpose flour

3/4 cwhole wheat flour

1 tspbaking soda

1/2 tspsea salt

1 1/4 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

1 c(two sticks) butter, softened

1 1/2 cgranulated sugar

2large eggs
-
2 Tbspmilk
-
2 tspvanilla extract
-
2 1/2 cquick or old-fashioned oats
-
2/3 cwheat germ
-
3 1/4 cflax seeds (ground or whole, depends on how much texture you like)

1/4 csunflower seeds
-
1 2/3 c(12-oz. pkg) semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 ccoarsley chopped nuts (i omit)
How To Make granola-ish cookies

1Preheat: Oven to 375 F

2Combine: Flour, baking soda, salt, wheat germ, flax seed and sunflower seeds in small bowl.

3Beat: Brown sugar, butter and granulated sugar in larger mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in eggs, milk and vanilla extract. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in Oats, morsels and nuts; mix well.

4Drop by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheets (I use parchment paper) This batter also works very good if refrigerated overnight-it seems to make the cookies easier to shape.

5Bake: 10-12 minutes or longer for crispy cookies. Remove onto wire racks to cool.
