Ingredients For my mailman's favorite sugar cookies

  • 2 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    cream of tartar
  • 3
    egg yolks
  • 1 c
    real butter
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 c
    white sugar
  • colored sugar or sprinkles, if you must

How To Make my mailman's favorite sugar cookies

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Cream the butter and sugar.
  • 3
    Blend in the egg yolks and vanilla.
  • 4
    Add the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Mix just until blended. Mixture will be somewhat crumbly.

    Form into walnut-size balls, or larger if you want a bigger sugar cookie.

    Roll cookie balls in plain or colored sugar or sprinkles.

    Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for about 8 - 12 minutes. Do not let these get brown.
