Ingredients For mint squares

  • 1 3/4 c
    flour
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/3 c
    dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 c
    cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 2 1/2 stick
    butter, softened
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1/2 tsp
    mint extract
  • 12 oz
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 14 oz
    condensed milk

How To Make mint squares

    Preheat oven 350. Grease 9x13 cake pan.

    In a bowl add flour, sugars, cocoa, baking powder and salt; stir. Add 3/4 cup of the softened butter; with a pastry blender mix until it makes crumbs.

    Add eggs, 1/4 tsp mint extract to the crumb mixture; stir until combined.

    Scoop batter into prepared pan. Bake 25 minutes; test with toothpick for doneness.

    In a saucepan over low heat add 1/2 cup butter and chocolate chips; stir and melt. Once melted add condensed milk and remaining mint extract; stir until smooth.

    Remove cake from oven; pour melted chocolate mixture evenly over top of cake. Let the cake cool completely. Once cooled, cut into squares. Keep refrigerated.
