I created a new kind of bread pudding recipe combining milk and cookies.

  • 1 3/4 c
    crushed chocolate wafers
  • 1 c
    peanut butter chips
  • 4
    eggs
  • 1 c
    cane sugar
  • 3/4 c
    light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 c
    margarine, melted
  • 2 c
    whole milk
  • 11 slice
    white bread, toasted and cut into cubes
  • 7 lg
    fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, crumbled
  • CREAMY MILK TOPPING
  • 1 tube
    frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 3/4 c
    sweet condensed milk
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 1 c
    whole milk
  • 1 c
    half and half

How To Make milk and cookies bread pudding

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

    To make the bread pudding, coat a 2-quart baking dish with cooking spray. Add crushed chocolate wafers and peanut butter chips; mix well.

    In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs, cane sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, butter and milk together. Gently stir in the bread cubes and crumbled cookies. Lightly spoon the mixture into the prepared baking dish.

    Bake until browned and and set in the middle, about 30 minutes; cover with aluminum foil after 15 minutes. Let the pudding stand for 10 minutes before serving.

    For the creamy milk topping, combine the whipped topping, sweetened condensed milk, cream cheese, whole milk and half and half in a large mixing bowl. Whisk together until blended and smooth.

    Spread the topping over the warm pudding. Garnish with fresh cookie crumbs.
