This has always been a holiday favorite but it is good anytime. It is a good cookie to put in holiday baskets.

Ingredients For maraschino cherry nut cookies

4 1/2 call purpose flour

1 tspsalt

1 1/2 tspbaking soda

1 1/2 cbutter, softened

2 1/4 csugar

3 lgeggs, beaten

1 1/2 tspvanilla extract

1/4 creserved cherry juice
-
3 coats, quick cooking, uncooked

1 1/2 cpecans, chopped

1 jar12-oz. maraschino cherries, drain & reserve juice, chop cherries
How To Make maraschino cherry nut cookies

1Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheets Bake 8 to 10 minutes Watch first batch closely, don't over bake. Makes 9 dozen

2Sift flour, salt and soda, set aside.

3In large bowl cream butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and cherry juice. Mix well. Add dry ingredient, small amounts at a time, mixing well. Stir in oats, cherries and pecans. Note: If mixture seems to stiff you can add a little more cherry juice.

4Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Watch first batch closely, don't over bake. Makes 9 dozen.
