Ingredients For maple walnut cookies

1 1/4 cfirmly packed light brown sugar

3/4 cbutter flavored crisco

2 Tbspmaple syrup

1 tspvanilla

1 tspmaple extract

1egg

1 3/4 call purpose flour

1 tspsalt

3/4 tspbaking soda

1/2 tspcinnamon

1 1/2 cchopped walnuts

30 to 40walnut halves
How To Make maple walnut cookies

1Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.

2Place brown sugar, shortening, maple syrup, vanilla, and maple extract in large bowl; Beat at medium speed of mixer until well blended. Add egg; beat well.

3Combine flour, salt, baking soda and cinnamon. Add to shortening mixture; beat at low speed just until blended. Stir in chopped walnuts.

4Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 3 inches apart onto parchment paper on sheet. Press walnut half into center of each cookie.

5Bake one cookie sheet at a time at 350 for 8-10 minutes for chewy cookies, or 11 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies. Do not overbake. Cool cookies completely. Makes 3 dozen
