This recipe has been a staple in my family for a long time. I'm considered the cookie baker in our family and the family is willing to be guinea pigs. One of my nephews renamed these tasty and simple sugar cookies "little gentle cookies" when he was a little boy.

Ingredients For little gentle cookies (a.k.a. suger cookies)

1 cconfectioners' sugar

1 csugar
-
1 cbutter flavor shortening
-
1 coil
-
2eggs
-
1 tspcream of tartar

1 tspbaking soda

1 tspsalt

4 1/4 call purpose flour

1 tspvanilla extract
How To Make little gentle cookies (a.k.a. suger cookies)

1Mix sugars, butter flavor shortening, oil and eggs together.

2Add dry ingredients and vanilla.

3Refrigerate until firm (about 1 hour).

4Roll dough into balls and glatten with a glass that has been dipped in sugar. Cookies will spread while bakeing, so don't make dough balls to large.

5Bake at 350 degrees for approximatley 8 minutes or until edges are slightly brown.

6Cool slightly in cookie sheet and then remove to rack to cool completely.
