Ingredients For kookie brittle

  • 1 c
    butter, softened- very, very soft (do not use margarine)
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour (not sifted)
  • 6 oz
    package of semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c
    pecans or walnuts (chopped)
  • 1 c
    sugar

How To Make kookie brittle

    In a large bowl with an electric mixer at medium speed, Cream butter add salt & vanilla beat in sugar until light & fluffy scrapping bowl occasionally.

    Add flour a little at a time; continue to mix until well combined; By Hand stir in chocolate & nuts;

    Pat dough with hands onto a Greased pan or cookie sheet& bake about 25 minutes until LIght brown at edges on 375. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Once cooled BREAK up with hands into pieces & enjoy I place the pieces into decorative bowls and place on coffee table. I also bag them and give as gifts in decorative bags. THERE ARE NEVER ANY LEFT OVER :0)
