I adore butter cookies! I have tried several good recipes over the years and seem to keep losing them! I knew I wanted to use confectioners sugar, butter, and pecans but could not find a recipe... so here is the one I just made up!

Ingredients For russian tea cakes

  • 1 c
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp
    almond extract
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 1/2 c
    pecans, finely chopped

How To Make russian tea cakes

    Cream butter and confectioners' sugar together
  • 2
    Mix in almond extract
  • 3
    Add remaining ingredients and mix well

    Chill dough until firm enough to handle

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees

    Using your fingers, shape dough into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet

    Bake for 15 - 18 minutes or until light brown on the bottom

    While cookies are still warm, roll in powdered sugar
