I adore butter cookies! I have tried several good recipes over the years and seem to keep losing them! I knew I wanted to use confectioners sugar, butter, and pecans but could not find a recipe... so here is the one I just made up!

Ingredients For russian tea cakes

1 cbutter
-
1/2 cconfectioners' sugar

1 tspalmond extract

2 cflour
-
1 1/2 cpecans, finely chopped
How To Make russian tea cakes

1Cream butter and confectioners' sugar together

2Mix in almond extract
-
3Add remaining ingredients and mix well

4Chill dough until firm enough to handle

5Preheat oven to 350 degrees

6Using your fingers, shape dough into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet

7Bake for 15 - 18 minutes or until light brown on the bottom

8While cookies are still warm, roll in powdered sugar
