2MEASURE FLOUR , CRM OF TARTAR, BAKING SODA TOGETHER AND SET ASIDE. BEAT SHORTENING AND SUGARS TOGETHER UNTI LIGHT AND FLUFFY. ADD IN VANILLA , SALT,EGGS TO SUGARS AND BUTTER MIX BEAT UNTIL SMOOTH. ADD FLOUR MIXTURE AND SHORTENING ABOUT A THIRD AT A TIME. BEAT UNTIL COMPLETELY MIXED THOURGH.DOUGH WILL SEEM A LITTLE THICK. STIR IN PECANS IF DESIRED INTO COOKIE DOUGH WITH A SPOON AND BLEND WELL. CHILL DOUGH FOR 30-45MINS.ROLL OUT DOUGH INTO A 1 TO 11/4 THICK. BAKE IN OVEN FOR 12-15MINS UNTIL SLIGHTLY GOLDEN....
