This recipe was apparently first published when John F. Kennedy was a senator,in the 1960's! I came across the recipe in a Nantucket cookbook of mine, and the contributor claims to be a friend of his! The cookies are tasty no matter what... and like many cookie dough's,can be made ahead, kept in the frig for about 2 weeks till you are ready to bake them. This is one cookie we make ahead at Christmas time. But they're just plain good, crispy, nutty, lemony and easy to make anytime!Just "slice 'n bake"...and enjoy!!!
