It was the 60's and every year my mom made these for Christmas. They are good and yes a whole box of brown sugar! I would say that they taste like a blondie. I found the recipe recently just in time for the holidays. It's been over 32 years since I tasted one. I hope you enjoy them.

Ingredients For jewish cookies

  • 4
    eggs
  • 1 box
    1 lb. or 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 2 c
    flour
  • pinch
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • 2 c
    powered sugar
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    cream

How To Make jewish cookies

    Beat eggs, add sugar and cream well (personally, I did not use the whole box of brown sugar. I loosely filled 2 cups.)

    Add flour, salt, cinnamon to wet mixture and mix well.

    Add vanilla and pecans and mix. Pour into an 8" cookie sheet.

    Bake on 350 for 20-25 min. Until golden brown.

    While still hot cut into squares. Mix 2 cups of powered sugar with cream and pour over bars. Let dry and take out of pan.
