Ingredients For ice box cookies

1 cbrown sugar

1 csugar

3eggs, well beaten

1 cshortening, melted

4 call purpose flour

1 tspsalt

1 tspbaking soda

2 Tbspmaple extract

1 cnuts, chopped
How To Make ice box cookies

1Preheat oven to 400 degree F. Grease cookie sheet lightly.

2Beat eggs until light, add shortening. Beat well. Add maple extract, sugars and nuts. Sift flour,salt and soda together. Add to liquid little at a time. when flour is incorporated into the liquid. Roll dough into a log shape. wrap with wax paper, place in refrigerator* until dough is cold then cut into 1/4 inch cookies. Bake for 10 minutes. *My mom would freeze the logs of dough until she was ready to bake them.
