Ingredients For granny's oatmeal-raisin cookies

1 cbutter-flavored crisco

1 cwhite sugar
-
1 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

2 lgeggs
-
1 tspvanilla extract

1 1/2 cunbleached white flour

1 tspbaking powder
-
1 tspsalt
-
3/4 tspcinnamon, ground

1/4 tspnutmeg, ground

3 coats, quick cooking

2/3 craisins
How To Make granny's oatmeal-raisin cookies

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2Combine eggs, crisco, white and brown sugars and vanilla with an electric micer at medium speed until well blended and smooth.

3In a seperate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and spices. Slowly add to creamed mixture and stir with a wooden spoon until mixed. Add oats;stir. Add the raisins and stir again.

4Roll into walnut-sized balls, coat with white sugar and flatten slightly with a fork.

5Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until slightly brown around the edges. Cool on cookie sheet for 1/2 minute. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.

6Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
