This is my original recipe that took me a while to get right. This cookie is NOT a Snicker Doodle! It is a thin, crispy, buttery delight - just like that warm cinnamon toast my grandma used to make for me! Enjoy!

Ingredients For grandma's cinnamon toast cookies

2 1/4 call purpose flour

1 tspsalt

1/2 cbutter, softened

1/2 cbutter flavored shortening (crisco®)

1 cgranulated sugar

1 cbrown sugar

1 tspvanilla extract

2 Tbspground cinnamon

2eggs
- CINNAMON/SUGAR MIXTURE

1/4 cgranulated sugar

2 tspground cinnamon
How To Make grandma's cinnamon toast cookies

1PREHEAT oven to 375° F.

2COMBINE flour and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and 2 T. cinnamon in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Form rounded tablespoon and roll in Cinnamon/Sugar mixture then move onto ungreased baking sheets. Flatten out slightly with the bottom of a buttered glass. *Mixture may need to be refrigerated for about 10 minutes in order to handle with Cinnamon/Sugar mixture.

3BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown around the edges and slightly soft in the center (just like your grandma’s cinnamon toast!). Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
