My precious mother in law Jenny Slotterback gave me this recipe. She was Pennsylvania Dutch and could she cook. My family loves these cookies. I made them for the kids in my church and now they are always asking for them.

1 cbuttermilk (no substitutes)

3-5 cflour (you have to feel it. you don't want the dough too thin or the cookies will run and not be cake like
How To Make grammy's buttermilk cookies

1Combine butter & sugar. Add eggs beat in. Add rest of ingredients alternating buttermilk with dry ingredients Drop by rounded tbsp. onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 350o for 10-12 min. Makes 2 1/2 to 3 dozen large cookies

2Icing: 6 tbsp. softened butter, 1 C. 10x sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1-02 tbsp. canned milk Mix until creamy Ice cookies when completely cooled. Enjoy!
