I just love ginger snaps, they are a very good snack with milk tea or coffee. And of course sauerbraten just wouldn't be the same with out them. This recipe makes 4 dozen. Bake @ 350 for 10 minutes.

Ingredients For ginger snaps

  • 3/4 cup
    shortenig
  • 1 cup
    sugar or splenda
  • 1/2 cup
    molasses
  • 1
    egg room temperature
  • 2 cup
    all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspo
    salt
  • 2 teas
    baking soda
  • 1 teas
    cinnamon
  • 1 teas
    ground cloves
  • 1 teas
    ground ginger
  • PREHEAT OVEN 350

How To Make ginger snaps

  • 1
    cream shortening and sugar: add molasses and egg. Beat well.
  • 2
    Mix all dry ingredients, add to wet. Mix well.

    Roll into balls and dip into sugar.
  • 4
    Place 2 " apart on greased cookie sheet.
  • 5
    Bake @ 350 for 10 minutes no longer. 4 doz.
