1/3 cshortening

1/2 csugar

1/2 cmolasses

1/2 cwater

2 cflour

1/2 tspsalt

1/2 tspbaking soda

1 tspground ginger

1/2 tspnutmeg

1/2 tspground cloves

1/2 tspcinnamon

- EASY CREAMY ICING

1 csifted confectioner's sugar

1/4 tspsalt
-
1/2 tspvanilla or other flavoring

1 1/2 Tbspcream or 1tbsp water
How To Make ginger creams

1Cookie recipe: Mix shortening,sugar,egg,molasses, and water thoroughly. Measure out flour. Stir dry ingredients together and blend in. Chill dough.

2Heat oven to 400. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls about 2" apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake about 8 minutes, or until almost no imprint remains when lightly touched. While still warm, frost with lemon or vanilla flavored icing.

3Easy Creamy Icing recipe: Blend sugar,salt and flavoring (try lemon,almond or peppermint flavoring for variety). Add cream to make easy to spread. Spread on cookies with spatula or pastry brush.
