This recipe are from my good friend's mother. They are by far my favorite cookie for the holidays. They are additive. I make several batches.

Ingredients For ginger cookies--thin and delicate!

1 csugar

1/2 cbutter
-
1/4 clard
-
4 Tbspdark molasses
-
1egg
-
1 tspginger
-
1/2 tspcloves
-
1 1/2 tspbaking soda

1 tspbaking powder
-
2 call-purpose flour
-
1/2 tspsalt
How To Make ginger cookies--thin and delicate!

1Mix the first 4 ingredients well; add dry ingredients and mix well.

2Roll teaspoonfuls of dough into a ball and flatten on a well-greased cookie sheet with the bottom of a tumbler dipped in sugar. Cookies are VERY thin.

3Bake at 325° F. about 12 minutes. These may be decorated as desired for Christmas cookies. Yields about 5 dozen cookies.
