Ingredients For european shortbread

1 cbutter or butter flavored shortening

1 csugar
-
1egg

1 1/2 tspvanilla or almond extract

2 1/2 cflour
How To Make european shortbread

1Cream sugar, eggs, butter and vanilla. Add flour mix well. Roll out on lightly floured surface and cut into rectangles or use a shortbread mold. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

2I use this the basis for many variations. Sometimes I add nuts. Sometime chopped cranberries or grated orange or lemon peel.
