1 cbutter, softened

12maraschino cherries

1 Tbspcherry juice

1 tspvanilla

1/4 tspsalt

1/2 tspbaking powder

2 cflour, scant

2eggs

1 csugar

1/2 cwhite raisins or currants
How To Make english tea cake

1Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

2Grease and flour a small tube pan.

3Cream butter and sugar.

4Add eggs, beating thoroughly.

5Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.

6Gradually add to butter mixture.

7Add vanilla and cherry juice.

8Fold in cherries and raisins and bake 1 1/4 hours.
