delecious sugar cookies

This recipe was given to me over 30 years ago. These cookies are intended to be frosted but they are delecious with none. I am a lazy cook so I keep the frosting a little thinner so I can drizzel it across the cookie. Sometimes more than one color... I hope you try these and enjoy them as much as I have over the years.

-
1Cream softened butter and Sugar. Add Egg and Sour Cream. Mix Flour, soda, nutmeg and Salt. Add dry ingredients one cup at a time to the butter, sugar, egg and sour cream. Dough will be thick but when all is combined, cover with plastic wrap and refigerate for an hour or so.

2Pre Heat Oven to 375 degrees Flour your working space and take about 1/3 of the cookie dough and roll to about 1/4 inch thick. cut your cookies and take another 1/3 of the batter and add to remnant dough...roll again and cut cookies. take the last 3rd, add to remnant dough and continue until all the dough has been used... You'll probably have one small cookie you'll roll with the last remaining dough. On an ungreased cookie sheet, bake 8 minutes or until barely golden on the bottom edge. Cool on a paper towel covered counter or cookie rack.

3Frost with your favorite cookie frosting... Or I make a 'confectioners frosting' mixing confectioners sugar, Vanilla and adding cream or milk to your desired consistency. The size of your cookie cutter will determine the quantity of cookies made.
