Ingredients For date-oatmeal cookies

2 1/4 cuncooked quick oats

1 ccrushed bran flakes cereal

1/4 call purpose flour
-
1/2 tspbaking soda

pinchof salt
-
1 1/2 stickbutter (3/4 cup), at room temperature

1 cpacked dark brown sugar
-
1 lgegg
-
2 tspgrated lemon peel
-
1 pkg(8 oz) chopped dates
How To Make date-oatmeal cookies

1Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease cookie sheets or line with parchment.

2Mix oats, bran flakes, flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl with a fork.

3Beat together butter and brown sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer until pale and fluffy.

4Beat in egg and lemon peel until blended.

5Stir in flour mixture, then dates until blended.

6Drop tablespoonfuls, 2" apart on prepared cookie sheet.

7Bake 10 minutes or until browned around edges. Cool cookies briefly before removing to wire rack to cool completely.
