1 csugar (plus extra for rolling cookies)

3/4 cmargarine, softened

1/4 cmolasses

1egg

2 call-purpose flour

2 tspbaking soda

1/2 tspsalt

1/2 tspcinnamon

1/4 tspground cloves

1/4 tspground ginger
How To Make crispy chewy gingersnaps

1Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease cookie sheets.

2In a large bowl, combine sugar, margarine, molasses and egg and blend well.

3Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup and level off. Combine with remaining ingredients and mix well. Chill dough so it will be easier to handle.

4Roll dough into 1-inch balls and then roll in sugar. Cookies should be placed 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Bake 9-12 minutes or until the edges are set.
