cranberry cookies

This recipe was given to me by my grandmother..I have added the coconut to it...You can make them with or without it..I just think it adds another layer of flavor to the cookie...I am asked every Thanksgiving to bring these cookies.

Ingredients For cranberry cookies

  • 2 stick
    butter, softened
  • 11/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c
    flour, sifted
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    pecans, finely chopped
  • 3/4 c
    dried cranberries, chopped
  • 3/4 c
    coconut

How To Make cranberry cookies

  • 1
    Cream butter and sugar together until light and creamy. Gradually add milk, vaniila, flour and salt. Lightly beat. Add cranberries and pecans.

    Form cookie dough into 2 logs. Brush each log with water and roll each in coconut, pressing lightly so it will stick.

    Chill dough for 2 hours. Slice into thin slices with a serrated knife. Bake at 375 degrees for twelve minutes or until edges are golden. Remove to a wire rack tto cool.
