I just love these bars. I look forward to the holiday season when fresh cranberries are abundant. A friend of the family gave me this recipe years ago and when I make them the smells of them baking fills the house with memories of Christmas.

Ingredients For cranberry butterscotch bars

1 cmargarine or butter

2 csugar
-
2eggs
-
1 tspvanilla extract

2 call purpose flour

1/2 tspsalt

1 tspbaking powder

1/2 pkgraw fresh cranberries, rinsed and sorted

3 ozbutterscotch chips

1 cchopped nuts (i use pecans or walnuts)
How To Make cranberry butterscotch bars

1Cream together butter and sugar. Mix in the eggs and vanilla.

2Mix together flour, salt and baking powder. Add to above mixture.

3Then add: cranberries, butterscotch chips and chopped nuts. Mix well. Press into a 9x13 pan that has been lightly sprayed with Pam.

4Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.
