Ingredients For cinnamon shortbread cookies

2 cbutter, softened

1 1/2 cgranulated sugar, divided

4 call-purpose flour

1 Tbspvanilla extract

2 tspground cinnamon

1/2 cfinely chopped walnuts or almonds
How To Make cinnamon shortbread cookies

1Cream the butter; gradually add 1 cup sugar, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer. Add the flour and vanilla; beat well.

2Press the mixture into an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan.

3Combine remaining 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, and chopped walnuts or almonds in a small bowl; stir well.

4Sprinkle over the dough; press the mixture lightly into the dough with your fingertips.

5Bake at 350º for 30 minutes. Let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares.
