These Christmas cookies were a holiday favoriate at a friends house when I was growing up in Los Angeles. What I love about this recipe is that the flavor possibilities are endless. Favorites on my list are pecans, walnuts, almonds, macadamias and combinations of these nuts.

Ingredients For christmas peppernuts supreme

  • 3 1/2 c
    bread flour
  • 2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 2
    well betten medium eggs
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    hot water
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts

How To Make christmas peppernuts supreme

    Prehet over to 400 °F Sift the first 4 ingredient together. Dissolve soda in water. Set aside.

    In a large bowl, mix eggs, sugar and dissolved soda together.

    Slowly add dry ingredients into egg mixture. Add more flower if needed to make dough stiff enough to roll.

    Roll out dough until it is about 1/8" thick. Cut out tiny rounds about the size of a quarter. Arrange on sprayed cookie sheet.

    bake in 400 °F oven for XXX minutes or until brown. Roll at once in powdered sugar.
