How To Make chocolate orange cookies
-
1Beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and milk and orange juice until well blended. Sift the flour and cocoa together and gradually mix together to form a soft dough. Use your fingers to incorporate the last of the flour and bring the dough together.
-
2Roll out the dough on a lightly floured counter until 1/4 inch thick. Using a 2 inch fluted cutter, cut out as many cookies as you can Re roll the dough trimmings and cut out more cookies. Place the cookies on 2 cookie sheets line with parchment paper, allowing room for expansion during cooking, and bake in a preheated oven 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
-
3Let the cookies cool on the cookie sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack and cool completely.
-
4To make the frosting, place the sugar in a bowl and stir in enough orange juice to form a thin frosting that will coat the back of a spoon. Spread the frosting over the cookies and let set. Drizzle with melted chocolate. Let set before serving. The cookies above were just drizzled with chocolate and the icing was deleted.
