Found this on the McCormick recipe site. Did a couple of modifications. This has now become a favorite.

Ingredients For chocolate crackled cookies

  • 8 oz
    semi-sweet baking chocolate
  • 3/4 c
    flour
  • 2 tsp
    saigon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp
    ancho chili pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    butter, softened
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2
    eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 4 oz
    semi-sweet chocolate chips

How To Make chocolate crackled cookies

    Preheat oven to 375F. Melt the baking chocolate as directed on package. Set aside.

    Mix flour, cinnamon, ancho chile pepper powder, baking powder and salt in small bowl. Set aside.

    Beat butter and sugars in large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Add melted chocolate; beat until well blended. Gradually beat in flour mixture on low speed until well mixed. Fold in chocolate chips.

    Drop dough by rounded tablespoon or medium cookie scoop 1-1/2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake about 10 minutes or just until cookies are set and slightly cracked on top. Cool on wire rack completely. Enjoy!
