These are delicious cookies that are loved be everyone. You may substitute 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla for the maple extract if you like.

Ingredients For chocolate coffee cookies

3/4 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

1/2 cwhite sugar

1/2 cbutter, softened

1/2 cvegetable shortening

1 tspmaple extract

1 lgegg, slightly beaten

1 3/4 cflour
-
2 tspinstant coffee granules

1 tspbaking soda
-
1/2 tspsalt

1 csemi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cwalnuts (optional)
How To Make chocolate coffee cookies

1Set oven to 350°. Prepare/grease a large cookie sheet.

2Cream sugars with butter and shortening (about 2 minutes). Beat in egg and maple extract.

3In a bowl, sift dry ingredients, and add to the creamed mixture; beat until combined. Add in the chocolate chips and nuts.

4Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes (don't overbake!).

5Cool and remove to a wire rack.
