Ingredients For chocolate chip cookies

  • 1 c
    crisco (mostly butter)
  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 1/2 c
    flour
  • 2 c
    oatmeal, uncooked
  • 1 tsp
    hot water
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 c
    coconut
  • 1 1/2 c
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c
    chopped walnuts

How To Make chocolate chip cookies

  • 1
    Cream sugars and shortening. Add eggs one at a time, beat well. Add vanilla.

    Stir baking soda into hot water. Add to cream mixture above.

    Whisk salt, flour together. Add coconut and oatmeal and mix well.

    Stir dry ingredients into creamed mixture just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

    Bake at 350 degrees until light golden brown, about 10-13 minutes.
