3/4 cshortening

3/4 csugar

1/3 cpacked brown sugar

1egg

1-1/2 tspvanilla

1-1/2 cflour

1 tspsalt

3/4 tspbaking soda

1-1/2 cminiature chocolate chips

3/4 cchopped pecans
- FILLING:

2 8-oz pkgcream cheese, softened

3/4 csugar

2eggs
-
1 tspvanilla
How To Make chocolate chip cheesecake bars

1In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugars. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, salt and baking soda; add to the creamed mixture and mix well.

2Fold in the chocolate chips and pecans. Set aside a third of the dough for topping. Press remaining dough into a greased 13X9X2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes.

3Meanwhile, in a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Spoon over crust. Drop teaspoonsful of reserved dough over filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.

4Cool on wire rack. Cover and store in the refrigerator.
