I love cherries and chocolate together so this was a no brainer for me to add them in a cookie recipe. Hope you like them, too.

Ingredients For chocolate cherry treasures

1 3/4 cup flour

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1 cup softened butter

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 egg
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chunks

1 1/2 cup dried cherries
How To Make chocolate cherry treasures

1In medium bowl,combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. set aside. In large bowl, beat butter, sugar, and brown sugar at medium speed until light and fluffy. (about 2 minutes)Beat in the egg and vanilla until well blended. With a mixer on low, gradually beat in 1/3 cup of the flour mixture in the wet ingredients and repeat until flour is used up. Stir in chocolate chunks and cherries. Cover the dough and refrigerate 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll chilled dough into golf-ball sized balls. Place balls 3 inches apart on a LIGHTLY greased cookie sheet. Gently press with the bottom of a glass to flatten. Bake 13-15 minutes.
