I was given this recipe by my neighbor next door. The recipe was one of her all time favorites. She passed away last year at the age of 94. When I make these I think of her and our talks at my kitchen table.

Ingredients For chinese chews

  • 1 c
    chopped dates
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 3/4 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt

How To Make chinese chews

  • 1
    Mix all ingredients and combine well. Spread in a 13x 9 inch pan. Bake at 325F for 25-30 minutes. When slightly cool and easy to handle, roll into balls and then roll in sugar. Store in air tight container.
