Ingredients For carmel apple crunch bars

  • 1 pkg
    cinnamon quick bread mix
  • 2 stick
    butter
  • 2
    granny smith apples, chopped,small
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 1/2 c
    mrs. butterworths syrup
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 3
    eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp
    almond flavoring
  • 4 c
    apple cinnamon cheerios coarsly crunched

How To Make carmel apple crunch bars

    Preheat oven to 350*. Place cheerios in a gallon zip lock bag and coarsly crunch, set aside.

    Peel and dice apples into small pieces, cover and set aside. Put dry bread mix into a bowl, you won't use the streusel or icing so you can use them later for some other goodie... add 1 stick of softened butter and cut in with a fork until crumbly.

    Place crumbs in a 9x13 inch pan and press down with the back of a spoon. Bake for 10 min. to set the crust. remove to cool.

    In a medium size sauce pan, add sugar, syrup, butter,salt, vanilla, almond flavoring, and well beaten eggs, stir continuously as you heat on medium heat, just until mix starts to bubble... remove from heat.. Quickly place apples onto crust, and pour mixture over them. Put chopped cheerios on top and bake for 30 min.. let cool, befor cutting and store in refrigerator. Enjoy!
