Ingredients For caramel cookie bars

2-1/4 cflour

1 tspbaking soda

1 tspsalt

1 cbutter, softened

3/4 csugar

3/4 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

1 tspvanilla

2eggs

2 cchocolate chips
- CARAMEL SAUCE

5 ozevaporated milk

1 bag(14 ounce) caramels

1/2 cpeanut butter
How To Make caramel cookie bars

1Combine dry ingredients in small bowl. Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla in large mixing bowl until creamy.

2To large bowl, add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Spread half of dough in greased 9 X 13 inch pan. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Remove from oven.

3While the cookie dough is baking, melt caramels and evaporated milk in a double boiler. Add peanut butter after caramels are melted. Melt thoroughly. Spread over baked cookie dough base.

4With the remaining cookie dough, drop by spoonfuls on top of caramel mixture.

5Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
