These are great for the holidays. Cranberry and orange are one of my favorite flavor combos.

Ingredients For cape cod cranberry cookies

  • 1/2 c
    butter or margarine
  • 1 1/3 c
    brown sugar
  • 1
    egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 2 1/2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • 1 1/4 c
    chopped cranberries
  • ORANGE GLAZE(OPTIONAL):
  • 2 Tbsp
    orange juice
  • 2/3 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp
    grated orange rind

How To Make cape cod cranberry cookies

    Beat butter and sugar until light and creamy. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Add sour cream.

    Combine flour, baking powder, soda, and nutmeg in a separate bowl. Stir into the wet mixture until well blended. Add the pecans and cranberries.

    Drop tablespoon-sized mounds on a greased cookie sheet. Make sure they are spaced 2 inches apart. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 375 degrees. Cool for a few minutes on baking sheet.

    Remove cookies and transfer to a rack to completely cool. Ice cookies with the orange glaze if you wish. Store in a tin.
