A neighbor gave me this recipe not long after my marraige when I was eager to find the best recipes. There are many versions of this cookie but this one is a winner. I often double the recipe to have enough to share.

Ingredients For butter balls

  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 1/2 c
    confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c
    chopped pecans

How To Make butter balls

    I use my mixer to cream the softened butter with the confectioners sugar until fluffy.

    Blend in the vanilla and gradually add the sifted flour.

    Stir in the pecans.

    Chill several hours for ease in handling. Shape into 1 inch balls.

    Bake 20 minutes at 350. Roll in more confectioners sugar while still warm.
