Who can believe just 3 ingredients? Wonderful taste. Can also be made with light brown sugar, but it will have less caramel taste.

Ingredients For brown sugar shortbread

  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 1/2 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 2 1/4 c
    flour

How To Make brown sugar shortbread

    Preheat oven to 300 degrees
  • 2
    Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl. Gradually add in flour and mix well.

    Turn out on a lightly-floured surface and knead until smooth.

    Place dough on ungreased cookie sheet and pat into a rectangle about 11 x 8 and 1/3-inch thick. Cut into 2-inch by 1-inch pieces. Prick each piece with a fork.

    Bake for 25 minutes, or until bottoms are lightly brown. Cool on sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool.
