This recipe cried out to be cut out with leaf cookie cutters. Lovely for Fall.

Ingredients For brown sugar maple cookies

  • 3/4 c
    butter, softened
  • 3/4 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 1/3 c
    maple syrup
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1
    egg
  • 2 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda

How To Make brown sugar maple cookies

  • 1
    Cream together butter and brown sugar.
  • 2
    Add maple syrup and vanilla and beat until light and fluffy.
  • 3
    Add egg and mix until combined.
  • 4
    Add flour and baking soda and beat until well combined and dough forms a ball.

    Refrigerate at least one hour, or over night.

    Roll out dough to 1/4" thickness.

    Place on parchment lined cookie sheet.

    Freeze until firm, about 20-25 minutes.

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Bake cookies 12-14 minutes until golden brown.

    Cool on cookie sheet 5 minutes.

    Transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
