Ingredients For blonde brownies

  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 2/3 c
    unsalted butter
  • 2 c
    packed dark brown sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 c
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c
    toasted pecans
  • for a more cake like brownie, add 1 tsp. baking powder
  • **you can use light brown sugar. although dark brown sugar adds a delightful tenderness to these brownies.

How To Make blonde brownies

  • 1
    Sift together flour, soda, and salt.
  • 2
    In a sauce pan, melt butter. Cool slightly and add brown sugar, slightly beaten eggs and vanilla.

    Add flour mixture a small amount at a time, until combined. Add nuts.

    Spread mixture into a 13 x 9 inch pan, prepared with Pam. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top.

    Bake @ 350 for 20-25 minutes. DO NOT OVER BAKE.
