These orginally came from a late 1950's Pillsbury cookbook. They may have a "proper" name, but I don't know what it is. I have called them "Black Cookies" since I was little because they are dark and fudgy!

Ingredients For black cookies

1/3 cbutter or margerine

3squares unsweetened baking chocolate

1 1/2 cgranulated sugar

3eggs

1 1/2 call purpose flour

1 csalted cashew nuts
How To Make black cookies

1Set oven for 350 degrees. Melt shortning and chocolate in a double boiler, over low heat till thoroughly melted, or in a medium microwave safe bowl for 3-4 minutes on medium high heat.

2Stir in the sugar, beat in each egg after adding, beating well. Blend in flour and cashews. Chill dough overnight.

3Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on a lightly greased cookie sheet. When finished baking, allow to cool on wire racks. Enjoy slightly warm with a cold glass of milk!
